Whitehawk Inn

A COMMUNITY centre that supports vulnerable people in one of the most deprived parts of the city could be forced to close. The Whitehawk Inn provides adult education classes, support and advice for people living in east Brighton. But the centre, owned by Brighton Housing Trust, looks set to close at the end of March because the charity can no longer afford to run it. Residents and service users said they were saddened by the end of a vital amenity in Whitehawk. Read More

We wrote to you a little while ago to tell you that the company that runs your GP surgery is not going to do that anymore. The company is called The Practice Group.

The Practice Whitehawk Road will carry on being your GP surgery until Wednesday 30th November 2016.

30th November
Then The Practice Whitehawk Road will close for good.

1st December
The Ardingly Court GP Practice has said they will be your new GP surgery.

They will be able to help you from Thursday 1st December 2016.

The Ardingly Court GP Practice already has a GP surgery in the Wellsbourne Health Centre.

The Wellsbourne Health Centre is the building that The Practice Whitehawk Road is in right now.

The Ardingly Court GP practice has two places where you can see a doctor or a nurse:
Ardingly Court Surgery, 1 Ardingly Street, Brighton, BN2 1SS

Ardingly Court Whitehawk Surgery, Wellsbourne Health Centre (1st floor), Whitehawk Road, Brighton, BN2 5FL

Information in this letter will tell you what happens next.

Making sure you can still get help from a GP surgery

The Ardingly Court GP Practice is happy for new patients to join their GP practice.

Extra money has been given to the Ardingly Court GP Practice to make sure they can organise enough appointments for people to see a doctor or a nurse at their Whitehawk Surgery.

You do not need to do anything to join the Ardingly Court Whitehawk Surgery.

All patients who go to The Practice Whitehawk Road will be transferred to the Ardingly Court Whitehawk Surgery on 1st December 2016.

Your medical records will be sent to the Ardingly Court Whitehawk Surgery.

You can choose to see the doctor or nurse at either
Ardingly Court Surgery, 1 Ardingly Street, Brighton, BN2 1SS
or
Ardingly Court Whitehawk Surgery, Wellsbourne Health Centre (1st floor), Whitehawk Road, Brighton, BN2 5FL

You can contact the Ardingly Court Whitehawk Surgery to make appointments from Thursday 1st December.

You can ring 01273 688333 to make appointments or go to one of the surgeries to make an appointment.

The Ardingly Court Practice will get in touch with you in the next few months to welcome you.

They will tell you more about their services and how to use them.

You can choose a different GP surgery to join instead of the Benfield Valley Healthcare Hub if you want to.

If you want to join a different GP surgery you can look on the NHS Choices web site to find out which ones are near to where you live
www.nhs.uk

You can ring NHS England on 01293 729298 if you need help looking for a different GP surgery.

Not all of the other GP surgeries in the City will be able to let lots of new patients register with their practice at once.

We understand that it has been a difficult time for people who go to The Practice Whitehawk Road.

NHS England, The Practice Whitehawk Road and the Ardingly Court Practice have all been working very hard to make good plans for people to get help from a new GP surgery.

If you have any questions about health care services in general you can call NHS England on 01293 729298, Mondays to Fridays between 9am and 5pm.

Or you can e-mail NHS England at
